Kushner is accompanying the senior most USA military commander, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford, and White House homeland security advisor Tom Bossert on the trip.
Kushner flew Monday morning to Iraq at the invitation of Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Kushner was travelling on behalf of Trump to express the president's support and commitment to Iraq's government and U.S. personnel helping combat Daesh, said Dunford's spokesman, Navy Captain Greg Hicks. Kushner also has been tapped to lead a new White House office that would streamline the government, using ideas borrowed from the business world.
Despite the official reason for Kushner's trip to Iraq, there's a much bigger question to be answered: Just what is Jared Kushner's job at the White House, anyway?
Mosul is by far the biggest city to have been held by Islamic State, and winning it back would largely destroy the Iraqi part of the group's "caliphate", proclaimed from a Mosul mosque in 2014. If talks go well, it is likely that this Iraq trip will serve to expand Jared Kusher's role as an worldwide diplomat for the Trump administration.
Dunford and Kushner would meet with Iraqi Defence Minister Irfan al-Hayali during the trip, ministry spokesman Colonel Laith al-Nuaimi said.
Bill O'Reilly is an bad , terrible man (cont'd)
That was the situation during the almost week-long period before Ailes left Fox News , meaning the odds aren't good for O'Reilly. But O'Reilly's fate rests with the Murdoch family and they are reportedly divided over how to handle it.
That kind of ground-level awareness of the war helps inform strategic decisions, Dunford said, adding it was the same reason he regularly leaves Washington to visit Iraq.
Kushner's trip is his first to Iraq and the visit to Hamman al-Alil, where USA advisors and artillery are positioned to assist the battle in Mosul, was also the closest Dunford has gotten to Mosul since the campaign began.

).Kushner has been deeply involved with presidential staffing and has played the role of shadow diplomat, advising on relations with the Middle East, Canada and Mexico. But given that the White House is now is debating a Defense Department review of the way in the war against ISIS is waged, the move seems prudent.
Before and following his election victory, President Donald Trump has had some harsh words for China on a number of key issues that many have claimed bristled Chinese President Xi Jinping and his government.
