The NFL world was hit with awful news on Thursday as Pittsburgh Steelers chairman Dan Rooney passed away at the age of 84. Mr. Rooney is one of the most respected and influential leaders in the history of the NFL.

For decades Rooney took the team his father founded and guided it to the very heights of the NFL, winning a league-best six Super Bowls. It required that all National Football League teams searching for head coaches interview at least one minority candidate for the job opening.

"Dan Rooney was one of the greatest owners in all of professional sports". The family business was his calling, and he soon became involved in every area of the Steelers. Noll won four Super Bowls.

Mauricio Pochettino is on course to beat last season's third-placed finish with Tottenham. It's about the energy in your mind not just your body.

"Mr. Rooney touched everybody he ever met. Words can not express the impact he had on me, my family and our organization on a daily basis". "And he was not a doting father, that he was going to watch me". Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown wrote that Rooney was "One of the most genuine, and humble human beings I've had the pleasure of knowing. And like I said there are still a lot of republicans, big shots in the Republican party who were upset with him", Gordon said. This season, the number 84 on my uniform will represent the 84 years you spent on this earth making an impact on the lives of others.

On Friday, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Pittsburgh Panthers football team both announced that they'd be honoring Rooney with their helmets. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 65 years, as well as seven children, 20 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four brothers.
