Freeland pushes Russian Federation to cut loose Assad

Speaking days after Tillerson, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley was less delicate, indicating that nothing was off the table in the wake of the Syrian allies' rebuke, and adding that the US was "calling out" Iran and Russian Federation over their support of the Assad regime.

Over the weekend, state news agency Xinhua called the strikes the act of a weakened politician who needed to flex his muscles and "overcome accusations that he was 'pro-Russia, '" according to The New York Times.

The twin events of a horrific chemical attack on Syrian civilians, combined with US airstrikes, have created new momentum in pursuing a long-term political solution to the Syrian civil war, Freeland told a conference call.

On Sunday, ABC News reported upon the statement issued by the "joint command operation center of Syrian allies", which is primarily composed of Iran and Russian Federation, in response to last week's United States missile strike on the Syrian military's Shayrat airfield. "I will be frank that we have a lot of q".

The G-7 meeting comes as the United States is sending a Navy carrier strike group toward the Korean Peninsula to provide a physical presence following North Korea's persistent ballistic missile tests. "Is that a long-term alliance that serves Russia's interest, or would Russian Federation prefer to realign with the United States, with other Western countries and Middle East countries who are seeking to resolve the Syrian crisis?"

And on Sunday, Ambassador Haley, the peranent U.S. representative to the United Nations, indicated Washington's willingness to help remove President Assad. But Tillerson was more equivocal, telling CBS that the first priority was the defeat of ISIS.

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the strike on the phone with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Sunday.

In a statement issued by the Kremlin, Russia and Iran both called for an "objective, unbiased" investigation into the chemical attack that provoked the strikes. However, numerous former Obama admin officials have been quick to support President Trump's actions in Syria, which goes on to show that they knew the deal our former president took so much credit for was nothing but a sham.

"Lavrov stressed that an attack on a country whose government is fighting terrorism only plays into the hands of extremists creates additional threats to regional and global security", the statement said.

The official said that there might be a three-way meeting later this week in Moscow between officials from Russia, Syria and Iran.

Christian relief groups and other humanitarian organizations have strongly condemned the "brutal" chemical weapons attack on Syria last week, but largely declined to comment on President Donald Trump's reaction to it. "It is unclear whether Russian Federation failed to take this obligation seriously and whether Russian Federation has been incompetent. I don't draw conclusions of complicity at all, but clearly they've been incompetent and perhaps they've just simply been out-maneuvered by the Syrians".

However, there has been confirmation from United Nations investigators that the chemical used to kill dozens of Syrian civilians last week, was sarin - a chemical that President Obama and his top officials assured the world, did not exist in Syria following the deal that supposedly removed all of the Assad regimes chemical stockpile.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley told CNN a change of government in the war-ravaged nation was "inevitable".

"Regime change is something that we think is going to happen because all of the parties are going to see that Assad is not the leader that needs to be taking place for Syria".
