Cubs get 17 hits in win over Brewers

The baseball term "rubber match", meaning a tie-breaking game, took on new meaning during Sunday's match between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs.

Arrieta (2-0) worked six innings, yielding three runs on three hits and two walks.

The Cubs took two of three in the series as they did in St. Louis in the opening series of the season.

Astros 5, Royals 4 • Jake Marisnick hit a tying home run in the ninth inning and Evan Gattis drew a bases-loaded walk from Matt Strahm in the 12th, leading Houston to victory at home.

Heyward did not start on Saturday, but that was because the Cubs had planned on giving him a day off rather than face Brewers lefty Tommy Milone.

Scherzer (1-0) allowed two runs and four hits, striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings.

A's starter Raul Alcantara gave up eight runs on just four hits in two innings of work against the Rangers including a grand slam to Nomar Mazara, who is off to a blistering start to the season.

Queen remake is still on: Thiagarajan
However, Thiagarajan asserts, "Irrespective of whether Tamannaah is doing the lead or not, the project will go on floors in May". The shocking update is that the remake of Queen has been apparently shelved due to undisclosed reasons.

Brewers: Braun returned to the lineup after missing Saturday's game with lower back tightness.

Chicago Cubs second baseman Javier Baez left a game after colliding with outfielder Jason Heyward while the teammates chased a shallow fly that fell for a hit.

Braun also helped the Brewers with his glove, saving two runs with a diving catch. Hendricks followed with a nubber down the third-base line that went for an RBI single and Albert Almora knocked in another run with a bouncer off the glove of Mariñez that Villar couldn't handle at second.

Zobrist sent Carlos Torres' first offering to right for his second home run of the season. For the Brewers, Jacob Barnes, Carlos Torres and Neftali Feliz tossed three hitless innings before turning it over to long-man Jared Hughes.

"It was a fun game, for sure", Milwaukee manage Craig Counsell said.

Inherited runners-scored - Suter 1-1, Hughes 1-0.

The Twins (4-1) were looking to start 5-0 for the first time since 1968. The World Series champions got a season-high 17 hits, many of which were not well-struck. The Cubs proved that by dumping one soft hit in after another to score runs. "Put a good swing on the ball and see what happens after that". Strikeouts never do that.
