Original Xbox games are about to become backwards compatible on Xbox One.
Microsoft announced at E3 2017 that original Xbox games are coming to the Xbox One backward compatibility program.
Any games which supported System Link can still be hooked up and played, even across console generations. What's more, it's perhaps easier and less time-consuming to make specific games backwards compatible rather than work with developers to remaster games (and whole series).
Xbox One X will be released worldwide on 7th November and you can check out the recent TV spot down below. What that means is that the finer details like online multiplayer and achievements for the games will not be available.

It's set to be the most powerful Xbox One console, and when the company opened pre-orders for the Project Scorpio Edition of the console, it sold out nearly immediately.
