On the face of it, John Kelly's new job as White House chief of staff looks easier than the one he's held as United States president Donald Trump's Homeland Security secretary. Scaramucci, who was rumored to have a contentious relationship with Priebus, called him a "f-- paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac" during a phone call with a reporter, was said to have accused Priebus of leaking information to the media.
Speaking to reporters on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington, Trump said: "Reince is a good man. John Kelly will do a fantastic job".
"John Kelly is a great American". "So, that whole group has been incredible, led by General Kelly".
The President broke the news on Twitter when the plane landed, welcoming incoming chief of staff Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly. "So, if Reince wants to explain he's not a leaker, let him tell you about himself", Scaramucci said.
Kelly has stood up to Congress, another facet of his history that Trump might find attractive.
The move comes amid a tumultuous first six months for the White House.
No White House chief of staff's term has ended more swiftly than the former GOP chairman's short 189 days on the job.

People who know Kelly told The Associated Press that he was not aware of the details of those initial orders until around the time that Trump signed them.
"My hope is General Kelly can right the ship and work with our president in a constructive way, and we can have the important debates that this country deserves", U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas (D-Mass.) said. Kelly, he said, will bring "unparalleled leadership skills to the job".
"If lawmakers do not like the laws they've passed and we are charged to enforce - then they should have the courage and skill to change the laws".
