Facebook Messenger is one of the most used mobile chat apps on the planet, with over 1 billion users.

Since the app is exclusively made for Android users with storage limitations, the size of Messenger Lite is under 10MB which makes it fast to install and quick to load up. While the Facebook Lite was already available in India, Messenger App just made its way to the Indian market recently. Messenger Lite is for both old and entry-level smartphones. The app also comes with voice calling feature and the ability to manage groups. But for sending money to friends users have to switch to marquee Messenger app.

Messenger Lite has earlier been rolled out in countries such as Vietnam, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey, Germany, Japan and the Netherlands.

"Starting today, some advertisers will begin to see Messenger ads as part of automatic placements within Power Editor and Ads Manager". However, it's still not clear whether these ads will be supported by the Messenger Lite app or not.

IL suspect indicted in Chinese scholar kidnapping
A federal grand jury Wednesday indicted Brendt Christensen for allegedly kidnapping visiting U of I scholar Yingying Zhang. As stated in the complaint affidavit, law enforcement investigating Zhang's disappearance believe Zhang is deceased.

Facebook has achieved impressive growth in both India and the United States since the start of 2017, but the latest figures suggest that active users in India are growing more than twice as fast as they are in the USA, noted a report prepared by HootSuite and WeAreSocial for advertisers. It says the Messenger ads will appear on the home tab of Messenger.

The world's biggest social network and a powerhouse in online advertising, Facebook has been working to diversify its revenue base as it expands into new areas. Like Facebook Lite, Messenger Lite is not available for iPhone users.

However, while messenger platforms are very high engagement platforms for people, it's rare that advertising messages will do anything other than interrupt.
