Tech Sergeant Released From Hospital After Air Show Accident

A U.S. Air Force pilot and tactical maintenance worker were hospitalized Friday after a fighter jet crashed at an airport in central OH, military officials said.

One of the famed Air Force Thunderbirds that was practicing for an air show at an airport in OH had a "mishap upon landing", Friday, Fox News can confirm.

Ricardo Von Puttkammer, who was covering the air show for Aviation Photojournal, told the Daily News that "it appeared that a gust of wind flipped the F-16 on its top".

Heard said the pilot suffered some lacerations and injuries to his leg and the other team member had no visible injuries. Both were in good condition Friday after being treated at a hospital. The F-16D model is a two-seater and is used by the team to take an observer on familiarization flights. "Both teammates were extremely fearless during the extraction and we'd like to thank Wright-Patterson Crash and Recovery, Dayton International Fire Rescue, local police, medical personnel and team members on scene for their incredible recovery efforts".

The Thunderbirds will not fly Saturday, according to WDTN.

A decision on whether to go forward with plans for the show in Dayton on Saturday has not been made.
