According to a PTI report: "Greg Clark holds on to his job as secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy and David Gauke takes over as work and pensions minister".
But he denied all such claims as "tripe" and urged colleagues to "calm down and get behind the Prime Minister".
He has also been appointed as the new minister for the Cabinet Office, replacing Ben Gummer who lost his seat in last Thursday's election.
His role in Brexit negotiations will also be under close scrutiny, with environmental legislation - and in particular air pollution limits - largely dictated by European Union directives.
