Early in the week, with Jon Ossoff expected to win, Pelosi let it be known that she expected to take back the Speaker's gavel after 2018.

Rep. Cedric Richmond, the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, who many have touted as a rising star in the party, attended the session, according to three Democrats who also attended. But, Congressman Tim Ryan was far more successful than that when he challenged Pelosi last November, winning 63 votes.

The White House is suggesting that a Republican win in Georgia's special House election on Tuesday was a personal victory for President Donald Trump.

On "The Fox News Specialists", Eric Bolling echoed the president's sentiments, pointing out that Democrats have lost more than 60 House seats with Pelosi as House speaker and then minority leader.

"I think I'm worth the trouble", Pelosi said. "It's time for a new generation of leadership in the party".

While some of "The View" hosts thought the closeness of the Georgia special election results Tuesday night indicated that Democrats were gaining ground on Republicans, Behar was much less optimistic.

Mr. Swalwell said on Wednesday morning.

Pelosi has been the target of campaign advertisements aimed at weakening the party's brand, including the recent special election in Georgia's 6th District.

As rumblings of dissatisfaction with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi grow among Democrats, Rep. Seth Moulton said her future "certainly" needed to be a topic of discussion.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is telling Democrats that next year could be the year they take back control of the House.

A handful of House Democrats made similar calls on Wednesday, with Rep. Kathleen Rice of Long Island, New York, telling CNN, "We need leadership change".

"I think there was consensus within the room that there are other members within the caucus who feel just like we do", Texas Rep. Filemon Vela told CNN.

"There comes a time when every leader has to say, 'For the good of the order and for the betterment of the party, it's time for me to step aside.' And I wish that that would happen right now", Rice said.

The frustrated Democrats met in Rice's office a day earlier to discuss their options as they face long odds of knocking out the woman who has led the Democratic caucus for almost 15 years from minority to majority and back, raised tens of millions of dollars and has had multiple legislative successes. Republican Karen Handel beat Democrat Jon Ossoff by around 5 percentage points in the suburban Atlanta district previously represented by Tom Price, now the Health and Human Services secretary. President Trump may have his flaws, but it works.

"You've got to have a clear message". It shows that momentum is not with their side.

Other members were even more blunt in their assessment of the Georgia defeat and Pelosi's culpability.
