While Sekulow did brush off all allegations of investigations being carried out into the President's actions, he did later let slip about an obstruction of justice investigation that may be directed at Trump.
After U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the FBI's investigation of the so-called Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, the responsibility for supervising the Russia probe went to U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who, during the time period since Sessions' recusal took place, had been serving as acting attorney general. "So that - nothing has changed in that regard since James Comey's testimony".
In a tweet on Friday, President Donald Trump called the investigation a "witch hunt". The suggestion last week that Trump may fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller is another example.
And not unlike others who advise Trump on personal matters, Sekulow regularly appears on Fox News, as well as hosts a syndicated daily radio talk show. Cuz the special counsel under the special counsel regulations reports still to the Department of Justice-not an independent counsel. Kushner is now represented by Jamie Gorelick, who is a partner at the firm WilmerHale.
He led the department's task force that investigated and prosecuted Enron executives in the energy giant's stunning collapse.
"So if the legal theory they were applying was correct, this is what it would be: The president of the United States takes legal action based on a recommendation from the Department of Justice to remove the Federal Bureau of Investigation director".
After Mueller's appointment last month, Congress reacted in a positive manner.
An attorney for Jared Kushner says she advised the president's son-in-law to review his legal team after her former law partner was appointed as special counsel. However, Rosenstein still has authority over Mueller. Trump has also made a number of decisions that have raised questions once of which is his dismissal of Comey.

New Zealand are already out after throwing away their lead over Mexico in the second game, so it's all about Portugal's task. Mexico ended the day as Group A leaders with four points, ahead of Portugal on goal difference.
Trump's attorney repeated the same statements on NBC's "Meet The Press".
"I don't think it's for me to say", Mr. Comey responded.
The president suggested on Twitter that he may have taped those conversations.
"This is a political fight and he's going to fight it", said a White House official. It also sent a letter to Comey asking for any notes or memos.
As with the travel ban cases, Trump's own words, in interviews and tweets, may prove to be his undoing in a potential obstruction case. Schiff cited the fact that the president at one meeting "cleared the room" of advisers and asked to speak to Comey alone.
The media firestorm rages on over the possible investigation of President Donald Trump for the firing of former FBI Director James Comey.
In what seems an unconvincing explanation at best, defense attorney Jay Sekulow chose to defend his President by categorically denying that there was any investigation being carried out against him.
