Angel Di Maria has agreed a deal with Spain's state prosecutor in which the former Real Madrid forward admitted two counts of tax fraud of nearly 1.3 million euros (£1.1 million) in exchange for a lighter sentence.
This comes after Real Madrid star player, Cristiano Ronaldo was also accused of tax fraud.
Jose Mourinho is being accused of defrauding the Spanish government of up to 3.3 million pounds from 2011 and 2012 and has yet to give a statement regarding the claim.
In addition, they say he only declared 11.5 million euros of Spanish-related income from 2011 to 2014, while what he really earned during that time was close to 43 million euros.
There have been reports in Spain that Ronaldo would be prepared to fight the case in court and risk the far more severe penalties were he to be found guilty.
While it would be sad to see Cristiano Ronaldo leave Real Madrid, Masters champion Sergio Garcia feels the Spanish and European champions would be fine without their all-time leading goalscorer.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi was sentenced to a 21-month jail sentence and 2.09-million-euro fine a year ago for tax fraud.
The prosecutor based the accusations on information provided by Spain's Tax Office, which appear to show that Mourinho used shell companies in the Virgin Islands and Ireland to "hide profits made from image rights".
Former Barca defender Javier Mascherano also agreed a one-year suspended sentence with authorities for tax fraud last year.
