Fultz, Ball taken with top two picks

Barring any catastrophic change of events, Markelle Fultz will be selected by the Sixers with the #1 overall pick in tonight's NBA Draft.

Now for the bad part: The French native, whose team is still playing in a championship series back home, was selected by the Knicks on Thursday night.

"I try not to think about it too much", Markkanen said.

Only Kevin Durant (Texas, 2006-07) and Michael Beasley (Kansas State, 2007-08) averaged more points as a freshman over the past 10 seasons. "This is a tremendous night for the Sixers and our great fans".

The selection comes after the Celtics traded the top pick to Philadelphia earlier in the week for the No. 3 pick, plus a first-rounder in either 2018 or 2019.

Top draft prospects gather for a group photo before the NBA basketball draft, Thursday, June 22, 2017, in NY.

Duke's Jayson Tatum, right, poses for photos with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver after being selected by the Boston Celtics as the No. 3 pick overall during the NBA basketball draft, Thursday, June 22, 2017, in NY.

He said he had been open to working out for the Celtics and said it was possible they might draft him, anyway. Fultz was the top prospect in the draft in the eyes of many (SI included), and should pair effectively with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid going forward. Fultz missed six games last season with a knee injury, but there was no structural damage found.

Trump admits he did not record Comey conversations
The possibility that Trump might have had tapes was raised by Trump himself after he unceremoniously dismissed Comey last month. She also said she did not believe his intention in his original Twitter post about tapes had been to intimidate Mr.

Fultz is on Twitter, where it seems he mostly retweets nice things people say about him.

Fultz spent just one season at the University of Washington, averaging 23.2 points, 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. There was the 1982-83 team that won an NBA title with forward Billy Cunningham as its prolific sixth man, the second overall pick in the 1965 NBA Draft.

UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball went No. 2 to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Christopher Heck, the Sixers chief sales and marketing officer, spoke with CSNPhilly about the good news today.

The first player taken who had spent a sophomore year in college was 12th pick Luke Kennard of Duke, taken by Detroit. Of the 20 players expected to be in the green room, 13 were college one-and-dones. Ball's father, LaVar, had said his son would only play for the Lakers, and it was clear that would happen when Lonzo got a phone call with the Lakers on the clock.

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the NBA's youngest teams. The Sacramento Kings have two top-10 picks, while National Basketball Association champion Golden State and runner-up Cleveland have none in the first round.

Now Fultz officially is a member of the 76ers and the latest young piece in a rebuilding plan dubbed by former GM Sam Hinkie as "the process".
