A 61-year-old San Luis Obispo bicyclist was struck and killed in Kansas Saturday night amid a bike race across the United States.

The driver of the Honda, Jessica Isabel Carrasco, 25, of Hays, was reported as possibly being injured.

The Highway Patrol reports two people in the vehicle were taken to a hospital with possible injuries.

All of the Honda's occupants were wearing their safety restraints, the patrol said. We urge all to take the time to find the quickest path to healing.
