With President Donald Trump blasting reports that he is under investigation for possible obstruction of justice, Trump ally and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said any charge wouldn't stick for one simple reason.
"Muelleris now clearly the tip of the deep state spear aimed at destroying or at a minimum undermining and crippling the Trump presidency", Gingrich tweeted.
"Very risky", he wrote, saying it's clear following the Post's story that Mueller is "the tip of the deep state spear aimed at destroying or at a minimum undermining and crippling the Trump presidency". "If he wants to fire the Federal Bureau of Investigation director, all he has to do is fire him".
Former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has re-emerged in recent days as an active surrogate for President Trump, and it didn't take long for him to join his stable of untruth tellers - this time, adding hypocrisy to the mix.
Somebody said the other day, I thought this was a very good test. "As James Comey said in his testimony, that the president was not the target of an investigation, on three different occasions. This would be a lot more fun than a yacht!'" Gingrich wrote.
Gingrich voted to impeach Bill Clinton, who was charged with obstruction of justice.
That part began after host Jedediah Bila asked Gingrich about Trump's support among the public. "How dare you smear a man who served this country honorably for decades in both war and peace, winning the Bronze Star and Purple Heart", Scarborough tweeted back to Gingrich.
Celtic and Rangers among British sides to learn European opposition
Celtic and Aberdeen have three rounds to negotiate, and Rangers and St Johnstone four, before the respective group stages. They will be seeded in every qualifying round they play.
Trump added that the investigation was "the single greatest WITCH HUNT" in U.S. political history and is being led "by some very bad and conflicted people!"
So now the newest one is: Ah.
Gingrich reversed course from a month ago, when he tweeted praise of Mueller, calling him "a superb choice" to head the Russian Federation investigation.
'I keep telling everybody at the White House, this is not like NY real estate law, this is criminal law, ' he said. His reputation is impeccable for honesty and integrity.
"I think it's incredible, if you look at the - for example, CNN's 93 percent negative coverage according to Harvard, 93 percent negative, I think it's a miracle that Trump has any approval", the former speaker said.
'Media should now calm down'.
