LeBron James claims he didn't invent the superteam

Forward Draymond Green wore a "Quickie" T-shirt to the Golden State Warriors' NBA championship parade on Thursday, with the "Q" copied from the logo of Quicken Loans Arena, home of the Cavaliers.

Regarding Green's comments directed his way, James responded during an appearance on the Road Trippin' podcast hosted by sideline reporter Allie Clifton and fellow Cavs players Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye.

Green retorted to LeBron from the stage of the Warriors' championship celebration (and on Instagram during the parade on other matters) in what has suddenly become a contested debate: Who are the super teams?

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook and Houston Rockets guard James Harden, former teammates of the Golden State Warriors' Durant, "liked" one of James' Instagram posts dissing Green.

James' response included pointing out that even after winning the title, the Warriors might still be a little preoccupied with Cleveland. But I don't look at it as - I definitely didn't start the super team, as that's what he's trying to say.

"But", James added, "I just feel like it's great that on the day you're celebrating your championship, my likeness and my name is in your head. And you added Chris Bosh", said Jefferson. "No", James said. "Of course not".

The prediction for tomorrow is good weather. "I was just happy that I was the one that was able to take advantage of it today". He had a six-shot lead at the turn but hit only three fairways on the nine and missed a 4-foot par putt on the 18th for a 70.

Green returned the shot, posting a screenshot from a video James had shared earlier. Green rejected that notion, saying that LeBron not only built superteams of his own, but also that the King is responsible for the whole trend.

"It's like, this is the greatest day you could have arguably in your life and you're talking to us", Frye later said.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Jefferson noted that he was a member of the Warriors from 2011 to 2013, when they drafted Green and Klay Thompson, at which point "this thing got started". "It makes you look 10 pounds lighter", Frye joked. I can't say nothing. "If that was the case, I would have grown an Afro". Frye asked. "Nah", James replied.

LeBron James reminded Green of who really started the super team era.

Gold-Onwude pointed out that waiting almost eight months to clap back at LeBron was petty.
