Amir removed all of India's top three as Pakistan stunned their arch-rivals with a remarkable 180-run win while Fakhar scored his maiden ODI ton for Pakistan.

Fakhar shared a fluent century opening partnership with Azhar Ali (59) and unleashed a barrage of attacking strokes all around a sun-kissed ground to give Pakistan real hope of upsetting the defending champions.

Pakistan's other hero-in-chief was opener Fakhar Zaman who, in only his fourth one-day worldwide, scored a buccaneering and at times outrageously lucky century.

"Not just today, not just tomorrow, this day will be remembered in Pakistan for years to come, said a beaming Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed as he made a passionate plea to other nations to play global cricket in their country".

With the bat in hand, India found themselves under early pressure after losing both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for just 6 runs.

Pakistan were hammered by India by 124 runs in the group stages and probably only a dropped dolly catch by Sri Lanka's Thisera Perera allowed them to reach the semi-finals.

Former Australia left-hander Michael Hussey feels that although India are hot favourites to retain the ICC Champions Trophy, but he believes that Pakistan can not be discounted as they have a feeling of "destiny" with them. "We played like we had nothing to lose, now we are champions", said Sarfraz.

Fakhar's natural game has plundered Pakistan domestic cricket for five seasons.

"A guy like Zaman, when players like that get going on their day, it becomes real hard to stop them because I think 80 per cent of his shots were high-risk and they were all coming off", Kohli said.

Sublime Fakhar leads Pakistan to 338-4 in final
But just when it seemed that he was blazing towards a first worldwide century, he was run out after a mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja. Shoaib Malik and Babar Azam threatened to explode before they were claimed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kedar Jadhav respectively.

"We went back to the hotel and they treated me very well".

"We can't take anyone lightly but they were more intense and passionate on the day".

Even India captain Virat Kohli was impressed.

"Amir did really well". Rohit and Shikhar. they were in great form but I did it.

Kashmiri people including good number of youngsters, who traditionally support Pakistan in cricket against India, come to streets and different markets in order to celebrate the victory of Pakistan Cricket Team against India, in final match of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. "We told them to play the same way as they do in domestic circuit - to see the ball and hit it - and it proved to be effective".

Babar Azam joined Fakhar, who lofted Ravindra Jadeja over long-on for six and got to three figures by sweeping Ravichandran Ashwin to the boundary.

For India, pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and spinner Kedar Jadhav took one wicket each.

India needed a quick start with Pakistan having put up a massive total of 338 on the board. Players like Hasan Ali, Fakhar Zaman were playing their first tournament and showed us that what they are capable of.
