The shooter who opened fire on a Republican congressional baseball practice on Wednesday had a list of several Republican representatives in his pocket, according to officials briefed on the FBI investigation.
Mika, a MI native, was one of five people shot when a gunman opened fire Wednesday as the Republican team practiced in Alexandria, Virginia.
The House majority whip remains in serious condition at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Scalise remains in critical condition, though doctors said Friday his vital signs have stabilized.
Dr. Jack Sava, the director of trauma at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center, said this afternoon that Scalise had "sustained a single rifle wound that entered in the area of the left hip".
"I feel a lot more confident and a lot more optimistic than I did two or three days ago".
"There's still a lot of things that can happen, there's still a lot of forks in the road that we may not even see yet", Sava said.
A congressman said Hodgkinson asked him whether it was the Democratic or Republican team practicing before he carried out the shooting. Hodgkinson was killed by capitol police.
"On behalf of Steve and our children, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible amount of prayers and warm wishes we have received since Wednesday's events", Scalise's wife, Jennifer, said in a statement Friday.

Congressman Scalise was among five people wounded in the attack. Scalise has undergone number surgeries so far, and his recovery is expected to be lengthy.
