During the summit, environment ministers of Germany, Canada, France, the U.K., Japan and Italy endorsed the Paris deal as "irreversible" to combat climate change.

"G7 countries have crucial roles and responsibilities to our own public opinion, to developing countries and to the planet", Italy's Environment Minister Gian Luca Galletti said at the start of the two-day meet.

"The United States will continue to engage with key global partners in a manner that is consistent with our domestic priorities, preserving both a strong economy and a healthy environment", reads the statement.

The gap between the United States and other large industrialized economies on climate change continued to grow at the Group of Seven (G7) ministerial talks on environment, in which most members agreed to strongly back the Paris agreement, with US objections noted in a stand-alone footnote. Yamamoto told Pruitt he wants to work with the US within the Paris framework.

On 2 June 2017, NY state announced a US$1.5 billion investment in renewable energy projects as part of the state's pursuit of 50% renewable energy by 2030.

Arsene Wenger is believed to be a big fan and is said to have "hand-picked" Burgess for the role . Burgess earned fame for his work with Port Adelaide after joining the club in 2012.

Gove, who has himself come under criticism for voting against measures to prevent climate change, said the Paris Accord was "a significant step forward". "I think that we need global cooperation in order to deal with climate change", said Michael Gove, who was appointed by Prime Minister Theresa May over the weekend.

"The United States will continue to engage with key global partners in a manner that is consistent with our domestic priorities, preserving both a strong economy and a healthy environment", the USA said in its statement, which was included in the broader climate change communique. I've got two young boys and you seem intent on supporting policies that will weaken our country and make the world a worse place for them.

The final version of the communiqué still references this decline - by 0.03 percent in 2015 compared to 1994, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration - but only as an example of how the U.S. will "continue to demonstrate through action", without saying the U.S. was "leading". Natural gas isn't just cleaner than coal for the local environment, it also emits roughly half as much carbon dioxide as the sooty power source. And Trudeau joined five other G7 country leaders in Italy on May 27 in an effort to persuade Trump to remain in the agreement. She said Canada remains "deeply disappointed" in the US move to abandon the accord, and that it was "very sad" to see the Americans reduced "to a footnote on climate actions".

T he problem with the Paris Agreement is how it was done - without the approval of the American people or their elected representatives through a ratified treaty.

That means that instead of the G6 against the G1 as in Bologna, it will likely be the G19 against the G1. "I also reiterated our commitment to work with provinces as well as states, cities, businesses and all actors committed to building on ambitious climate action under the Paris agreement".
