Four people were shot in the incident and the shooter, James T. Hodgkinson, 66, of IL, died from injuries sustained when he was shot by police, Fox News reported.

The wounded Capitol Police officers were identified as David Bailey, who was treated for a minor injury, and Crystal Griner, who was shot in the ankle.
President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, visited with Scalise late Wednesday.

Trump described his move as an effort to ramp up pressure to create a "free Cuba" after more than half a century of communism. The policy will maintain diplomatic relations and allow US airlines and cruise ships to continue servicing the island.
Trump, who visited Scalise at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center on Wednesday evening, expressed optimism that Scalise would eventually recover.
In a statement, Texas Rep. Roger Williams, one of the team's coaches, said one of his staff members, legislative correspondent Zack Barth, was shot during the incident and is receiving medical attention.
Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., who was at the baseball practice when the shooting happened, told CNN that after Scalise was shot he was "dragging his body" to escape, leaving behind a trail of blood. He was reportedly shot in the hip and taken to a hospital where doctors performed surgery on him. As the bullet traveled across his body, it broke bones, tore up internal organs and caused major internal bleeding.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., recounted candidate Trump's comments prodding supporters to pummel demonstrators at rallies and said Republicans were being "sanctimonious".
