He asked for it: Trump now under investigation for obstruction of justice

Unfortunately for Trump, that seems to have changed shortly after he treated Comey to his signature catchphrase: Anonymous officials are telling the Washington Post that special counsel Robert Mueller is examining whether the president's conduct towards Comey constituted obstruction of justice. Trump said in May that China may have hacked the emails of Democratic officials to meddle with the election, offering no evidence and countering the view of intelligence officials.

Rosenstein took over the investigation when Sessions recused himself from any dealings with the Russia probe on March 2 after his own dealings with Russian officials were disclosed. The Senate confirmed his appointment 98-0. He told the panel that he and others, including Trump, concluded months before Comey's termination that it was time for a "fresh start" at the bureau, adding concerns about Comey's performance were never discussed with the then-FBI chief. Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats is reportedly cooperating with the investigation, as he has information that could be key to understanding if Trump did attempt to impede the investigation into Russian Federation and the election.

Coulter suggested that because Comey had testified that Trump hadn't been personally under investigation while he was FBI director, the goal of Mueller's commission "is now over". Help us make a difference for Malaysia.

Ruddy appeared to be basing his remarks, at least in part, on comments from Jay Sekulow, a member of Trump's legal team, who told ABC in an interview on Sunday (Monday NZT) that he was "not going to speculate" on whether Trump might at some point order Rosenstein to fire Mueller.

Comey said he believed Mueller would look into Trump for obstruction of justice. "I need loyalty, I expect loyalty", Trump told Comey at a January 27 dinner, according to Comey. The White House said he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about the contacts he had with Russia's ambassador to the United States, Sergei Kislyak, before Trump took office.

Law enforcement sources cited by various publications identified the gunman as James Hodgkinson, 66, of Belleville, Illinois. Roger Williams, who is one of the coaches, said the Republican baseball team holds its practice every morning at 6:30 a.m.

Mueller's requests to interview the officials signals that his investigation is expanding to include the possibility that Trump tried to obstruct justice, according to The Times.

Reports that Trump was considering firing Mueller surfaced last week, again citing unnamed sources. Rosenstein is handling matters related to Russian Federation and it is he who appointed Mueller as special counsel.

Republican lawmakers seized on Comey's testimony to point out Trump wasn't in the FBI's crosshairs when Comey led the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Sessions, who recommended in a signed memo that Comey be fired, may end up claiming executive privilege as a means of limiting the scope of his testimony.

The White House declined to comment, referring questions to Kasowitz.
