Oakland - Kevin Durant became a champion and lifted Golden State to near-perfection as the Warriors celebrated their fifth NBA title on Monday, defeating Cleveland 129-120 to win their second NBA Finals in three seasons.
"I just had to trust in it, we were really good tonight", Durant said after the game.
"I'm happy for him", Curry said.
"We've learned from everything we've been through to bring (the trophy) back home", Curry said.
Q: Can you find much solace in getting to The Finals three years in a row? Just have to get back to the drawing board. "I'm ready to do it again".
Following the game, Durant paid tribute to Cavaliers' LeBron James, who scored a game-high 41 points. Kyrie Irving added 26 points and J.R. Smith 25 in a losing cause.
The first player Durant embraced following the victory was James, who gave a valiant effort himself and was matched up with the Warriors forward for most of the series.
"I couldn't sleep for two days, I was anxious, I was jittery", Durant admitted after the game.

Then it was Golden State's turn again, taking the title in five games. Or, in the case of Kevin Durant , drink a little too much of it.
In the second quarter, when the Warriors did the bulk of their damage, Smith poured in eight points on 3-of-3 shooting, hitting two three-pointers.
Durant, who joined from the Oklahoma City Thunder last summer, was key to the Warriors' victory and their 16-1 postseason run - the best in the league's history.
"There's no doubt in my mind that he will return as the coach of this team", Myers told ESPN after the Warriors won the National Basketball Association championship after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games. But despite the Cavaliers' strong start, no team could turn an opposition's momentum around faster than the Golden State Warriors.
Kevin Durant had 39 points on 20 shots, plus had seven rebounds. Not to mention a healthy one after his 2016 injuries. This was a special post-season for the Warriors who only lost one match in the entire Playoffs en route to their fantastic title. David West fought for the ball with Irving, then they got tangled up and Tristan Thompson entered the fray and he and West went at each other face-to-face.
J.R. Smith hit another 3-pointer and LeBron James scored on a hard putback to help Cleveland cut a deficit that was 17 in the second quarter to eight, 86-77, with five minutes to play in the third quarter.
Green had sat out this very game a year ago, suspended because of flagrant foul point accumulation after he swiped at James' groin in Game 4.
"If Kevin Durant was the consolation for (last year's) loss, thanks for the loss", Draymond Green said.
The Warriors led by as many as 17 but Cleveland, behind LeBron and Kyrie Irving, refused to let the game get out of hand.
