In an interview to Spanish daily Expansion, Modi said the strong economic growth of India offers many opportunities for Spanish companies.
MADRID (AP) - India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met with his Spanish counterpart, Mariano Rajoy, for talks centering on security, fighting terrorism and economic relations. France is world- leaders in space, defense, nuclear and renewable energy, railways and urban development sectors.
If signed, the two units of the plant, with capacity to produce 1000 MW of electricity each, will significantly boost the country's nuclear power generation.
In October 2015, a joint statement between PM Modi and Mr Putin promised the signing of a General Framework Agreement on the nuclear units by December 2016. But, sources said, the Credit Protocol, or a line of credit that Russian Federation was to provide, proved to be a hurdle.
"Russia is the only foreign partner of India in the establishment of nuclear energy". And India will play a significant role in two major projects the U.S. has revived-its 2011 New Silk Route initiative connecting Afghanistan to neighbouring regions and the Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor linking South and Southeast Asia.
Moscow also rattled India recently with its decision to support the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a project opposed by New Delhi because it runs through the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.
"India-Russia relations have been the one constant in a world that has changed dramatically since 1947". We see the Arctic as another way we can cooperate with Russian Federation, he noted.

He answered more than twenty questions with some version of "I don't recall", "I don't recollect", or "I don't remember". In general, as with most of the Russia-related hearings conducted by Congress, it was a tale of two parties.
In a post on social media site Facebook prior to the event, Modi said that he hoped India and Germany would "chart out a future roadmap of cooperation with focus on trade and investment, security and counter-terrorism, innovation, and science [and] technology".
Modi had arrived in stormy weather in St. Petersburg - the former capital of imperial Russian Federation that was founded by Czar Peter the Great in 1703, and was also known as Petrograd and Leningrad.
"We have been together in times - good and bad", Modi wrote in an article published Wednesday in Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazetta.
Prime Minister Modi and President Putin will address the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) where India is a "guest country". "And when he was meeting the President of the government of Spain MR Rajoy, he mentioned that Spain felt very privileged to welcome an Indian Prime Minister after nearly 30 years in Spain and although the visit is short it was very purposive and filled with lot of economic components", said Bagley.
He also emphasized the importance that Spain attaches in the coming months to solid progress on the India-EU Broad- based Trade and Investment Agreement (BITA), which may facilitate further Spanish and European investments in India. Even in bilateral trade, the two keep asserting that they want to take it to $30 billion by 2025, which is small.
"Both leaders agreed on the need to preserve and further develop open trade and a business friendly investment scenario in both countries, and considered that policies towards protectionism may weaken worldwide trade and have a negative impact in global economy", the joint statement said.
