Iran arrested another seven linked to the recent deadly terrorist attacks in the capital Tehran, local media reported on Saturday.

"He said, "Such crimes, which are an indication of the malevolence and at the same time lowliness of the perpetrators, are too trivial to undermine the determination of the Iranian nation".

"Such acts will have no other result than to reinforce hatred for the USA government and its agents in the region, like the Saudi (government)", he wrote. That we've survived this long is because of you.

Washington has imposed new sanctions on Tehran for its alleged support of "terrorist" groups in the Middle East, ballistic missile tests and human rights abuses.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister was quick to reject allegations that Riyadh was involved, saying on Wednesday that the country "condemns terrorist attacks anywhere they occur and we condemn the killing of the innocent anywhere it occurs". More than 50 people were wounded in the morning attack on parliament, which was in session. He concludes by threatening the royal family of Saudi Arabia and promises, "after Iran, it will be your turn".

"It's obvious that security measures are going to be tightened in some particular areas", said Meisam Karimi, a Tehran-based journalist and blogger.

The attackers were armed with rifles and pistols, and at least two blew themselves up with suicide vests.

The fact that the attackers are in all likelihood Iranian Kurds, Sunnis from inside the country, is a source of concern, one analyst said.

The bodies of the victims - in coffins draped in national flags and covered with flowers - were then taken for a religious funeral procession near Revolution Square in central Tehran, where Friday Prayers take place. Their names included Abu Jihad, Qayyum, Fereydoun, Seryas and Ramin.

The suspected orchestrator of the attack, who has not been named, was tracked down by Iranian intelligence after he had fled the country amid the ongoing crackdown by government forces.

President Hassan Rouhani, a pragmatist more open to contacts with the West, attended the funeral alongside other clerics and officials. The ministry also published pictures of their corpses.

The victims were laid to rest on Friday.
