Islamic State threatens attacks in Saudi Arabia

Crowds gathered on the streets of the Iranian capital to shout slogans against the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel on Friday, while reaching out to touch coffins wrapped in flags and covered in flowers.

"It (the attacks) will not damage our nation's determination to fight terrorism. but will only increase hatred for the governments of the United States and their stooges in the region like the Saudis", Khamenei said. All five perpetrators were Iranian nationals. He also accused Washington of exchanging democracy for money, referencing a massive arms deal recently agreed between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.

In a speech at the ceremony, Larijani denounced U.S. sanctions against Iran over its ballistic missile programme.

"This terrorist act took place a week after a joint meeting between the USA president and head of a reactionary regional country [Saudi Arabia] which has been a constant supporter of terrorism".

Following deadly attacks on Tehran on June 7, Iran has initiated a response, targeting those responsible for the attacks.

"Two suspects with links to the terrorist raids in Tehran on Wednesday have been arrested in (the western Iranian province of) Kermanshah", state TV quoted intelligence ministry as saying.

The country's Supreme Leader said the attacks will add to the hatred that Iranians harbor toward the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Several safe houses of Wahhabi terrorists were identified and attacked in a joint operation by the Intelligence Ministry, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iran's Police, says the communiqué released on Friday at noon by Iran's intelligence ministry.

"Lots of documents and weaponry have been seized as well", it added. "Some terrorist cells also have been dismantled".

Reportedly two guards, 10 government staffers and five civilians were killed in the attacks that simultaneously targeted the country's parliament and shrine of late founder of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. During the attack 17 people were mmartyred and more than 50 injured.

The attacks were the first in Iran claimed by the Islamic State, which has repeatedly threatened Shias, the second largest branch of Islam, a majority in Iran.
