Drops 'Kwon Ji Yong' Comeback Album; Gears For 'Act III

G-Dragon, member of boy group Big Bang, released his album "Kwon Ji Yong" yesterday, amidst controversy surrounding his group-mate T.O.P, who is now being investigated for using marijuana.

G-Dragon of Big Bang returned with a new solo album Thursday evening, amid ongoing controversy surrounding bandmate T.O.P, who has been indicted on allegations of marijuana use. However, after one hour his title track "Untitled, 2014" immediately the topped music charts.

"Untitled, 2014" is now at the #1 spot on 7 major music charts that include, MelOn, Naver Music, Genie, Olleh Music, and Mnet Music.

One hour after "Untitled, 2014" was released, the track shot straight to the top on numerous music charts, including Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Naver Music. But observers speculate that the artist may have made a decision to place the provocative hip-hop track on the back burner to avoid controversy, especially in light of band mate T.O.P's recent marijuana scandal and drug overdose.

On June 8, YG Entertainment revealed a photograph of a USB drive with G-Dragon's basic information written on it, saying "Kwon Ji Yong, blood type A, 8/18/1988". However, it was learned that the 28-year-old South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer, and fashion icon was supposed to release a different track from his album but changed the last minute. As the title suggests, the album has an strong autobiographical aspect to it, with lyrics focused on G-Dragon's personal character and growing pains as he is about to enter his 30s.

Following the release of the new album, the singer is to begin a concert tour of 19 cities around the world in Seoul on Saturday.
