"Hola Espana! Prime Minister Modi arrives in Madrid, first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in almost three decades, is received by Spanish FM in a special gesture", tweeted Gopal Baglay, Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The agreements were signed after Prime Minister Modi held wide-ranging talks with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy at the Moncloa Palace in the Spanish capital.
Modi said he is confident that his visit to Spain - the first by an Indian prime minister since 1988 - will give a new momentum to bilateral ties.
Two-way trade totalled 4.72 billion euros (S7.33 billion) in 2016, an 8.5 per cent increase over the previous year, of which Spanish exports made up almost 1.26 billion euros. There are around 200 Spanish companies operating in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, a major emerging economy, didn't reply directly Tuesday when asked whether it would stick with the accord if Washington leaves.
Modi's tour also leads him to France and Russian Federation - but not to former colonial power Britain. He said that in "today's global context", his discussions in Spain would focus on worldwide developments.

Following his meeting with Merkel on Monday, Modi flagged on Twitter the discussions he had with his German counterpart on "ways to expand cooperation between our nations in areas such as trade, security, infrastructure, and energy".
Modi also met King Felipe VI at Palacio de la Zarzuela on the outskirts of Madrid. "The potential for India's accelerated growth has never been greater, nor the optimism higher", he said.
"Very few people would know that Bundesliga has a widespread following in India", he said in his speech, as the two countries concluded by signing several key MoUs and agreements focusing on youth development.
"They [Modi and Merkel] also reaffirmed their strong commitment to the EU-India Broad Based Trade and Investment Agreement and their commitment to bring about a resumption of the negotiations at the earliest possible date".
"Germany is contributing in a big way in the success of "Make in India".
He told the CEOs of the reforms being undertaken such as GST, and said that initiatives like Make in India, Digital India and Start up India are attracting much foreign interest. To strengthen this bond further, the PM will be visiting St. Petersburg to attend 18 India-Russia Annual Summit from 31 May to 2 June.
