Tottenham Hotspur were made to work hard for a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday in their English Premier League fixture, with Christian Eriksen's 78th minute strike ensuring the Lilywhites reduced Chelsea's lead at the top of the table to four points in the process.
The Denmark worldwide struck with a long-range drive 12 minutes from time to settle a tense game and move Spurs back to within four points of leaders Chelsea.
But the team's character in recovering from Saturday's FA Cup semifinal loss to Chelsea pleased manager Mauricio Pochettino.
With the Ivory Coast worldwide winger in excellent form this season and continuing to improve, rumours linking the attacker with a switch to White Hart Lane at the end of the campaign are still circulating.
However, Eriksen's 30-yard thunderbolt secured a vital three points to keep the pressure on the Blues.
