Harbaugh, who has thrown his fair share of barbs at the New England Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick, compared the Orioles-Red Sox rivalry to the one that has formed between the Patriots and Ravens.

Chris Sale continued the feud by throwing behind Machado Tuesday night.

Manfred did not comment on specific changes or guidelines being considered, but said more would be forthcoming after officials get the information from the teams.

The Orioles started the week with a four-game series in Boston. Josh Rutledge, an in-game injury replacement for third baseman Marco Hernandez, collected his first hit and first two RBIs of the season as the Red Sox won their second in a row to improve to 4-4 against Baltimore this season.

A Boston Red Sox fan was banned for life from Fenway Park after he used a racial slur during a conversation with another fan at the ballpark Tuesday.

BoSox left-hander Chris Sale, who threw behind Machado on Tuesday night, will reportedly not be suspended by Major League Baseball.

Then, without warning, Sealy pulled out a handgun that had been tucked in his waistband and shot Ballard in the upper body. When Ballard walked to the passenger side of the auto , he asked Sealy to step out of the vehicle, and a struggle ensued.

"I felt it was different than the normal I-hit-your-guy, you-hit-my-guy", Manfred told ESPN Friday. I could go up there and crush somebody if I wanted to, but you know what, I'll get suspended for a year - and the pitchers only get suspended for two games. "Go ahead. F--ing hit me", Machado said.

Unfortunately for Machado, the league did not suspend Sale.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred also responded with a strongly worded statement.

Manfred said some of the animosity may have been generated because the Red Sox and Orioles met seven times in the last two weeks.

The Sox and O's play each other 10 more times, including a four-game series in Baltimore from June 1-4, leaving plenty of opportunity for more shenanigans between the teams.

Chris Sale has a 1.38 ERA and 1.44 FIP in 45.2 innings pitched. In 2016, while with the Chicago White Sox, the team scratched Sale from his start and sent him home on July 23 for slashing the club's throwback jerseys.
