Mets shutout, Adam Wilk shelled in place of suspended Matt Harvey

The former longtime major leaguer, who was the Mets catcher in 2006 and 2007 and has been out of the league since 2008, sent a few evasive tweets after the Mets announced Sunday that Matt Harvey is suspended three games for breaking a team rule.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson revealed the ban but did not disclose details of why Harvey was suspended and neither did Mets manager Terry Collins.

Adam Wilk started in Harvey's place on Sunday.

Harvey's turn in the rotation comes up this week again, so we'll see what the Mets end up doing when his name is called.

Harvey was scheduled to start Sunday afternoon's home game at Citi Field against the Miami Marlins.

The 29-year-old lefty was no match for the prodigious power of Stanton, whose 20 home runs at Citi Field are the most at any visiting ballpark by a player since 2011.

"At this point, we've been treading water and feeling like we've been sinking a little bit", Miami manager Don Mattingly said.

T.J. Rivera homered in the first and finished with two hits while Granderson hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Marlins right-hander Tom Koehler allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three in five innings.

Adeiny Hechavarria also homered for the Marlins. Prado opened the season on the 10-day disabled list after straining the same hamstring during the World Baseball Classic. Both Prado and Rojas are day-to-day.

Asdrubal Cabrera tried for a diving stop in the shortstop hole, landed on his left thumb and rolled onto his back, grimacing. 1B Lucas Duda (hyperextended left elbow) went 0 for 4 as the designated hitter for Class A St. Lucie. The Mets scored 21 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in eight straight games. Robert Gsellman gets the ball, and he is 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA and 22 strikeouts this season.
