Pakistan call off tour of Bangladesh

Khan argued that as Pakistan had already completed two tours of Bangladesh, in 2013 and 2015, they are now unwilling to tour for the third time without Bangladesh reciprocating and sending their men's team to Pakistan.

Shaharyar Khan, the PCB chief, who met representatives of the Bangladesh Cricket Board on the sidelines of the ICC meeting in Dubai, briefed them of Pakistan's decision.

The PCB chairman said the series has been postponed indefinitely by mutual consent. "We toured Bangladesh in 2012 and 2015 without Bangladesh reciprocating so we hope they will discuss further and find a solution", he said.

If the tour is off, Bangladesh will have a break in July this year, because their next fixtures after the Champions Trophy in June is a proposed home series against Australia in late August. The PCB had invited Bangladesh for a two-match T20I series this year, only for the BCB to rebuff the invitation.

Pakistan has called off its scheduled tour of Bangladesh this year, reportedly after the neighbouring country's repeated refusals to visit Pakistan. Although Bangladesh are open to play in a neutral venue, PCB are not keen on taking that option.

Indian Kashmir blocks social media after clashes
The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department on Wednesday banned 22 social networking sites in the restive Kashmir Valley for one month. The two countries have gone through three wars over the region, but the conflict has not been resolved.

Relations between the Pakistan and Bangladesh boards have been sour in the past.

Bangladesh were the fourth team - after West Indies, Ireland and Sri Lanka - to refuse to travel to Pakistan in the last two years.

Pakistan invited Bangladesh to play a two-match T20 global series this year but the Bangladesh Cricket Board has rejected the invitation. "They were supportive overall and we are looking forward to host some of the top players of the world".

The Pakistan Cricket Board sees a World XI tour of the country in September for a short Twenty20 series as another positive step.
