Chelsea's on-field skipper Gary Cahill has recovered from gastroenteritis and is in contention to feature against Southampton after missing Saturday's FA Cup showdown.

After a rampant first season in England in 2014/15 when he scored 20 league goals for Chelsea, Costa was among the players who most openly clashed with then manager Jose Mourinho last season and angry fans booed him after Mourinho was sacked.

Blues head coach Conte said: "We passed a big step, a big psychological step after the defeat against United".

Diego Costa nodded in and then scored a well-taken second to take his side seven points clear of second place Tottenham, who travel to in-form Crystal Palace on Wednesday. His confidence is very important for us.

"I must be pleased because I have a squad of great men and great players. We are ready to fight until the end".

The league leaders stepped up their game in the second half and scored again in the 54th minute with a landmark goal for Costa, who headed Fabregas' cross past Fraser Forster from close range to reach his 50th in England's top flight. "The goals are their life. I am pleased for my players because they deserve this win for the great effort they showed me".

"Sometimes he was unlucky in different circumstances, but I was always confident about him". Now he must continue'.

Trump decides to keep Nafta for now
During his election campaign Mr Trump called Nafta the " single worst trade deal ever " and a " killer " of USA jobs. Trump said he believes "the end result will make all three countries stronger and better".

Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and a second-half brace from Diego Costa helped the west London outfit extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points.

"I don't want my club to buy me a selfish player one day. I just want to finish the season well and we will see afterwards".

"I know if I kick the ball then probably the referee sends me off".

"We played against a great team and against two great players tonight".

Hazard, Costa, Cahill and Cesc Fabregas were all recalled to the starting line-up after Conte rotated boldly at Wembley and he felt his players cast his decisions in a favourable light.

"It was a better performance than against Manchester City [a 3-0 defeat in Southampton's previous match]", he told a post-match news conference.

The midfielder, back from suspension, was prior to the match compared by Saints boss Claude Puel to N'Golo Kante.
