Workers at a factory in China used by the company that makes clothing for Ivanka Trump's fashion line and other brands worked almost 60 hours a week to earn wages of little more than $62 a week, according to a factory audit released Monday.
G-III, the company that manufactures and distributes Ivanka apparel through a license agreement, told Business of Fashion in a statement that it accepts responsibility for resolving the issue. The "mistakenly labeled merchandise" with the Adrienne Vittadini Studio label instead of Ivanka's label will be corrected, claims G-III.
Ivanka Trump's brand of clothing, shoes, and other items experienced controversy as her dad transitioned in the presidency, and the controversy has not stopped. One anti-Trump group called Grab Your Wallet lists dozens of stores that shoppers should boycott for selling Trump-branded goods, including Stein Mart SMRT, +0.00%. Sears Holdings Corp., the parent of Sears and Kmart, says the stores have removed "a very small number" of Trump-branded items online. However, Stein Mart CEO D. Hunt Hawkins told the site that despite some customer complaints about the Ivanka Trump label, the choice to sell the relabeled clothing had nothing to do with politics.
But while Wall Street Journal reported a year-on-year slump of more than 70 percent in the run-up to the USA election, more recent figures showed the brand's sales increased by 346 per cent between January to February of this year.
It's hard to imagine how this could've happened without someone from Ivanka Trump's camp knowing, especially since the brand took such a hit after it was dropped from prominent retailers like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.

"Do not buy Adrienne Vittadini clothing its new name 4 @IvankaTrump clothing 2 con us into buying her clothing made in China #GrabYourWallet". While the prodigal daughter has returned to the White House, for what reason none of us know, she has reportedly stepped down from her management role but, as the Post reports, retains ownership in her name-brand company.
She received a cold reception from the audience after she said her father, US President Donald Trump was a "tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive".
In 2012, Trump said that "G-III has distinguished itself as a trusted partner for some of the world's finest and most visible brands". "If we get it, we get".
