It should be noted, too, that Sapp said Garrett isn't as good as Courtney Brown, the former Penn State defensive end who the Browns took first overall in the 2000 NFL Draft.
Sapp blew up conventional wisdom like it was the quarterback on one of his patented interior rushes when speaking about the consensus No. 1 overall pick with ESPN's Adam Schefter recently. There are some plays where you kind of want to see a little bit more at the end of the play by Myles Garrett, but you're playing 80-90 snaps on defense now versus 50-60 years ago because of the up-tempo offenses. "No, no, no. This ain't even close".
Luckily most of the nonsense will start to fade away come Thursday night, although their will still be people who criticize the Browns if the select Garrett and those who will criticize them if they pass. But when it comes to credibility on someone being lazy, when it comes to credibility on someone having integrity, I'm not listening to Warren Sapp. Where's the game he took over? I watched him play for a number of years.
"I don't see it from this kid", Sapp said about Garrett, according to ESPN. Where? Any defensive lineman who's the No. 1 pick, you turn up and you say, 'There it is!' This kid, no, I don't.
In this scenario the Browns get the best player in the draft and a potential defensive standout, and they get a quarterback they hope can grow into "the guy".

Also, the prospect for demand was boosted by a hopeful note from the International Monetary Fund . "The reasons are twofold". Gasoline stocks were up by 1.5 million barrels, compared with expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.9 million-barrel drop.
Many people believe Garrett will be the first selection taken in the National Football League draft, regardless of what Sapp has said.
I don't see it from this kid. Sapp added that on game tapes Garrett "disappears" for stretches. [Ware] doesn't fall to us at pick 11 if somebody thought he was going to be a Hall of Famer.
At Texas A&M, the 6-foot-4, 272-pound Garrett had 32 ⁄2 sacks, 48 ⁄2 tackles for a loss and seven forced fumbles in three seasons. Only time will tell if he understands that and perhaps a critic such as Sapp will show Garrett that he's still got plenty to prove.
Sapp recently stated that Garrett was "lazy" and disappears in some games, which is the opposite of what Finebaum thinks.
