Vikings say goodbye to Adrian, will see him Week 1 vs Saints

The 32-year-old running back has ended weeks of speculation about his future after agreeing terms with the Saints on a two-year deal worth $7 million (6.4 million euros).

At least some Vikings who might have to tackle Peterson next September seemed ready to embrace the challenge, noting that they were never really allowed to touch Peterson at practice.

Peterson played in only three games last season before being sidelined by another knee injury, a meniscal tear that was surgically repaired.

Though today was the first day of Vikings offseason workouts, the most talked-about topic was the one guy who was not there, running back Adrian Peterson.

Peterson, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, made $12 million last season, and on February 28 the Vikings declined his $18 million option for 2017.

Over the final five minutes plus stoppage time, Madrid made the same mistake that Barca had made in the preceding eight minutes. Just imagine, his 500th goal coming here, a victor in the 92nd minute at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Everson Griffen, a fourth-round pick in 2010, said it's always tough to see a longtime teammate go, but he is looking forward to the opportunity. "I would assume that he will have a warm welcome when he comes here". He's done so much for this organization and the Twin Cities. "We always talked about it". They're back in the news because they continue to make positive moves."finally-making-the-playoff" moves that should be expected from a team that's missed the playoffs three straight seasons. Peterson is 32 and missed almost all of 2014 while being mired in an ugly child abuse case, but that did little to diminish the kind words extended toward him by the organization on Tuesday.

He was the 2012 NFL MVP after rushing for 2,097 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Now Peterson joins a Saints backfield led by running back Mark Ingram, who is coming off one of his best seasons and is New Orleans' incumbent starter. Brees led the National Football League in passing last season with 5,208 yards. Having Butler on the team in 2017 will give them a great defense, as he can play alongside Stephon Gilmore.

Peterson was released by the Vikings in February after 10 seasons in Minnesota. I know there's things offensively that we can do to help the other parts of the team, you know the other phases. "I mean, what that guy has accomplished in the face of a lot of adversity has been tremendous". Certainly, if Peterson is able to prove himself in New Orleans, he'll get a hefty amount of carries alongside Ingram. He started every game for his first seven seasons and ranks tenth all-time in games played in New Orleans Saints history.
