Over the course of his 19-minute "No Spin News" podcast, O'Reilly told listeners that the "truth will come out" about the allegations, adding that he would elaborate on his side of the story later on "down the lane".
Aside from that O'Reilly claimed that he would rather keep the information under wraps for now because he doesn't want the media to "misconstrue it".
"I watched Bill O'Reilly at this hour for years, and I always marveled at how well prepared he was, how tough he was, and how crisply and directly he expressed his views", continued Carlson. However, you, as a loyal O'Reilly listener, have a right to know, I think, down the line what exactly happened. "And we are working in that direction".
"No Spin News" is only be available to paid subscribers of O'Reilly's website and went live at 7.pm. EST.
Cavs' Smith hopes to play in game three
The Cavaliers' big three have combined for 89 points as Cleveland took a 2-0 playoff series lead over the Indiana Pacers. James needed just two rebounds to pass Robert Parish (1,765 rebounds) for the eighth-most rebounds in playoff history.
O'Reilly concluded with the statement that she is prevented from saying much, but stated he's confident "the truth will come out". It is unclear, though, how many of O'Reilly's die-hard fans would follow him from the television airwaves into the comparatively uncharted waters of podcasting. Bill O'Reilly's "The O'Reilly Factor" averaged almost 4 million viewers during the first quarter of 2017.
O'Reilly said is podcast will eventually get longer and will include guests, becoming "a genuine news program".
"Our concern was with the disturbing allegations made against Bill O'Reilly, and not with Fox [News] in general, although we were naturally monitoring their handling of these allegations", Untuckit CEO Aaron Sanandres said last week. He conceded that his podcast, which will be free this week before turning into a subscription-only broadcast, was "a completely different experience than what you've had in the past". Some of the people on the "Factor" staff have been here from the very beginning, helping Bill O'Reilly create something that had never been done before. He had been with network for over 20 years prior to departure. According to Nielsen, 79% of those tuning in to "Tucker Carlson Tonight" in the first three months of the year were not members of the guaranteed adults 25-54 demo.
But this could be Maddow's time to shine - not only because of Fox scrambling after the O'Reilly scandal, but also because viewers appear to be hungry for her brand of taking down President Donald Trump.
