There were eight bullet holes in the auto, according to police, the newspaper reported.

According to Cincinnati Police Lt. Steve Saunders, Kentucky officers pulled him over around 1 am in Covington after officers noticed the bullets holes in the side of his vehicle. Reports would later indicate the officers believe Broner was involved in an altercation at G-Moni bar on Queen City Avenue in South Fairmont, leading to Broner's auto being the target for his assailants.

According to police, Broner told them someone shot at the vehicle after following him from a bar in Cincinnati.

"Adrien is a nice guy, a really nice guy", said boxing coach P Man Jones.

Cops checked him and realized he had an open warrant from 2014, so he got booked into the Kenton County Detention Center at 1:18 a.m. and released at 5:10 a.m after posting a $503 bond.

Despite the witness' statement and what an officer observed to be bumps and abrasions on the victim, the charge was dismissed. Muhammad told police he noticed the driver was Latino and the passenger was White, and four rounds into the passenger side.

A short time later, witnesses began calling 911 to reports shots fired at the corner of McMillan Street and McMicken Avenue.

Broner attorney William Welsh said Thursday he hadn't heard from him. According to TMZ, Broner was actually pulled over for failing to appear in court over a drunk and disorderly incident from several years ago.

He was in and out of court past year on felonious assault and aggravated robbery charges related to a gambling dispute that were eventually dismissed when the victim failed to appear in court twice.

The assault and robbery charges were later dropped.

On the day the trial was scheduled to start in July, Broner showed up late to the court and was hung over, according to the judge.
