Tottenham's under-23 coach Ugo Ehiogu is in hospital after the former England defender collapsed at the club's training ground on Thursday. The manager, Mauricio Pochettino, the assistant manager, Jesus Perez, and the club's head of development, John McDermott, walked over to the pitch where Ehiogu had fallen to make their own checks on the situation.

"Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his family".

Ehiogu spent nine years at Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000 before he joined Middlesbrough for a seven-year stint at the Riverside Stadium. "We shall continue to provide updates when we have further information", Spurs said in a statement.

The company blamed the 22% year-over-year decline in worldwide subscribers to an unusually large global growth last year. In the fourth quarter of 2015, research showed 49.1 million pay TV subscribers in the USA and that number is falling.

Ehiogu subsequently moved into coaching and has been at Tottenham for the past three seasons.

Former England defender Ehiogu was appointed coach of Tottenham's Under-21s in the summer of 2014 after a short spell working part-time at the club's academy.

The former England worldwide defender has been working with Spurs since 2014 having enjoyed a successful playing career.
