Blue Jackets avoid sweep by Penguins with Game 4 win

The Penguins are now just one game away from being done with the Columbus Blue Jackets and their repeated attempts at committing assault and battery instead of playing hockey, before moving on to the next round of the playoffs.

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski blocked a shot with his face during the second period of tonight's playoff game versus the Penguins.

Nutivaara's goal at 4:48 of the second period boosted the Blue Jackets' lead to 3-0.

It was the second straight overtime game of the series, and second consecutive win for the Senators following their 4-3 victory in Game 2.

According to the rulebook, if a player is injured and can not continue to play, the play of game shall be stopped once the injured player's team has possession of the puck.

The Blue Jackets are down 3-0 in the best-of-seven series.

Allen has been the star of the first three games. The Penguins defeated the Blue Jackets 5-4.

Colton Parayko also scored for the Blues and Alexander Steen added an empty-netter for St. Louis, which will try to sweep the series Wednesday night in St. Louis. Even when they would win series, they would too often leave the door open for opponents or let series go an extra game or two.
