Samsung Electronics' smartphone business depends on the Galaxy S8, but the latest handset has come under fire for a quality issue even before it hits market shelves.
The Galaxy S8 might have a red tint screen issue, some of the early buyers in South Korea discovered, but Samsung says it's not a phone defect.
They said that the red hue seems to be worse in certain areas, especially towards the top and bottom and the sides. Some Internet users said, "The display on the Galaxy S8 has definitely a reddish tint", paying attention to Samsung Electronics' response.
Some Internet users also posted how to check whether you have a reddish panel.
This isn't the first time that consumers have pointed out the reddish tint of the Galaxy phones. The company also faced supply shortages previous year when it sold the Galaxy Note 7, resulting in delayed shipments. However, some customers said that it did not improve after correcting the color display settings. Some industry insiders are saying that the reddish tint may be because of a color balance problem.

Experts said the problem could be attributable to the fact that while traditional LCD panels use red, green, and blue, the Super AMOLED adopted by the Galaxy S8 uses two pixels, red-green and blue-green. It can be fixed in the phone's settings menu. "If the colour still appears to be reddish, customers can change it at the service centre".
There have been suggestions that the issue may be linked to faulty chips in the device that caused a malfunction in the graphics processing unit.
In conjunction with the unveiling of the S8, Samsung also introduced new Gear VR with Controller, Expanding Gear VR Ecosystem to make VR experience easier and more enjoyable, as well as the Samsung DeX device which enables productivity for mobile workers by extending the smartphone to a desktop environment.
The discovery comes as the South Korean tech giant has been promoting the Galaxy S8 smartphones to put to rest the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 phablet, whose production was suspended past year due to some of the devices catching fire while charging around the globe.
