Later in the show, Melissa McCarthy returned for her now infamous portrayal of White House press secretary Sean Spicer, this time dressed as the Easter bunny in an attempt to apologise for his gaffes about Hitler and concentration camps when speaking about last week's chemical attack in Syria.

Spicer had the simple task of explaining to the White House Press Corps that the reason President Trump chose to go through with launching an airstrike on Syria was because Syrian president Bashar al-Assad had launched a chemical attack on his own people.

The real Spicer apologized April 12 after comparing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Adolf Hitler and saying Hitler "didn't even sink to using chemical weapons". He later apologised for the same. McCarthy's Spicer said as the audience groaned. "It would be great if the nit pickers didn't focus on every slur and lie I say".

Donald Trump has only been president of the United States for a few months, but already his press secretary, Sean Spicer, has become more prominent than any White House press secretary in recent memory.

Fallon has been criticized in the past for being apolitical over the previous year, shying away from open criticism on his show and even throwing softballs at Trump during an interview.

"I am sensitive to the fact they were sent there on trains but at least they didn't have to fly United." the Spicer character said.

Pence explains that actually, Trump's got more than a thousand days left of his presidential term, prompting the president to retort: "I don't know, have you seen my tweets about North Korea?".

In a hilarious Easter-themed skit, McCarthy, as Spicer, walks out during the White House Easter egg roll in a Easter bunny costume to make some remarks behind the presidential lectern.

Pence to visit Demilitarized Zone
After a two-month policy review, officials settled on a policy dubbed "maximum pressure and engagement", US officials said Friday. On Friday, North Korea said the unsafe security situation was due to the "Trump administration's reckless military provocation".

"Spicey finally made a mistake", he said.

McCarthy filmed her third appearance as Spicer in this weekend's sketch not from SNL's Studio H in New York City, but from a set all the way in Los Angeles, California.

"You know what? I'm not going to do it".

He stands before the two, reality show host-style, holding what appears to be a photo in his hands.

"Yeah, I know they're not really called "Holocaust centers" - duh, I know that".

This week, the presentation was a one-of-a-kind illustration of Passover, or "aka, the Jewish Easter".

Good times. We are left to only imagine just how many egg-shaped gumballs "Spicey" indulged in this holiday, but, hey, they can't squeeze everything into one four-minute skit.
