Out of the box, the app lets you stream shows on ABC, Bravo, CBS, Comcast SportsNet, Disney Channel, ESPN, Fox, Fox News, Fox Sports Networks, Fx, MSNBC, NBC, and USA. The service also includes channels that are typically outside basic cable packages, such as US, the CW, FX, SyFy, Fox News, MSNBC and others.

For those looking to expand their base channel listing, Showtime and Fox Sports Plus are now the only two available as add-ons, at $15 and $11 per month, respectively. YouTube says that AMC, BBC America, IFC, Sundance and Telemundo will be available soon.

Naturally, the wealth of content available on YouTube is also integrated so after watching a show viewers will see links to related videos, perhaps from your favorite team's YouTube channel. You can also watch all of their YouTube Red Original series and movies right in the app as well.

Yet another rival has emerged to challenge Netflix's dominance of the streaming market in the form of Youtube TV. The launch also pits YouTube against other television streaming services such as Sling TV.

YouTube TV has some impressive perks.

Clinton soon waded back into foreign policy, demanding payback for the chemical attack that claimed at least 70 lives in Syria on Tuesday.

"This is such a new marketplace", YouTube VP content partnerships Kelly Merryman tells Billboard.

YouTube TV, the new online TV service from the Google-owned OTT giant, went live Wednesday in a handful of markets - New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Chicago and Philadelphia - with more US cities to be added to the launch list "soon".

What sets YouTube TV apart is its cloud-based DVR with no storage cap. The app for the streaming TV works on computers, tablets and phones and can be screened to a television device using Google Chromecast. Only three of the accounts can stream at any one time.

If you want to watch TV on an actual TV, you'll need to purchase from Alphabet again (or dig up an HDMI cord). But then last month YouTube Go made it onto the Play Store unofficially and users around the world were able to download it from APK Mirror and try it out. Plus, in case you were wondering: YouTube TV will become available in more markets.
