Tracking Lane: Major hurricane targets Hawaiian Islands
A watch is typically issued 48 hours before the anticipated first occurrence of tropical storm-force winds. The waters in the central Pacific tend to be warmer as you go further south, with sea surface temperatures near the Hawaiian Islands, especially to the east of the chain, tending to hover in the low-to-mid 20s - a bit on the chilly side to support strong tropical systems.

The new EPA policy has no national emissions reduction target and barely mentions climate change . Anything that enhances government control of the energy economy and punishes fossil fuels is seen as virtuous, while solutions. Since his days campaigning for president, Trump has promised to revive the failing coal industry-telling miners in West Virginia two years ago to get ready to start "working your asses off"-and ignored the well documented consequences for human health and the planet".

NASA postpones launch of spacecraft to ‘touch Sun’
It hurls powerful plasma and energetic particles that can unleash geomagnetic space storms and disrupt Earth's power grid. " Parker Solar Probe would be just 4cm away from the Sun", explained Dr Nicky Fox, the British-born project scientist who is affiliated to the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.

Nasa spacecraft heads for the Sun
Learning more about the solar wind also will help scientists better predict the effects of solar storms and the impact of the solar wind on Earth's magnetic field, wreaking havoc with communications, power grids and navigation. The cup will glow red when the probe makes its closest approach to the sun, sampling the solar wind and effectively touching the sun . "We need more understanding to predict these flares and coronal mass ejections as they produce space weather which could affect ...

Medication given to sick killer whale at sea to save her
The female orca - known as J35 - has been clinging to her calf since it died on July 24, an image of grief that has struck an emotional chord worldwide. Launch of NASA's Parker Solar Probe a success — LIFT OFF
Speechless is not a word typically used to describe Nicky Fox, mission scientist for the Parker Solar Probe at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. And the mystery is profound. The Delta 4 climbs away from pad 37 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. These events can affect satellites and astronauts as well as the Earth - including power grids and radiation exposure on airline flights, NASA said.
