After the death of the senior Jarvis in 1905, her daughter vowed to fulfil her mother's dream to designate a Mother's Day. As the poet Robert Browning put it "Motherhood: All love begins and ends there". Mother's Day ranks third on the list of high attendance Sundays in most churches, falling behind only Easter and Christmas. But, of course, you want to get her something! Even as adults, we seek out a little nurturing and a little mothering now and then.
