In a video widely circulated on social media, Lukau is seen praying for the "dead" man at his church before the deceased 'resurrects'.

The "dead" man reportedly died on Friday after an illness.

'As a funeral services provider we do not offer services without documentation neither do we repatriate bodies without any paper work.

Gaca said the man's relatives who had been travelling in a separate vehicle, a Toyota Quantum bearing fake stickers of another funeral parlour, Black Phoenix, had explained that they were on their way to Zimbabwe for the man's burial when they chose to visit the church.

Now three funeral companies, which claim they were manipulated by the Pastor and his Johannesburg church Alleluia Ministries International, are planning to sue for damage to their reputation.

"Alph lukau resurrect a man who is already breathing in the coffin - competition for these thugs so called pastors is very high and they are trying so hard", he captioned the video.

In the video the pastor speaks theatrically into a microphone, introducing supposed family members of the man in the coffin. "Devil, I told you wherever I find you I will kick you", said Lukau amidst the cheers and applause from the perplexed congregation.

He said: "Resurrection means suspension of the laws of nature".

The church's pastor Rochelle Kombou told Sowetan on Monday that the church was "not interested in responding to critics" who accused them of misleading the masses as they were "preoccupied with doing God's work".

Mafu said none of the three parlours stored the man's body and added that they were unaware of the church service which later took place.
