Authorities say a young man at a New Jersey supermarket assaulted an 81-year-old who was wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat.
It is unclear how ICE became aware of Santos, however, or whether local police alerted the immigration agency to her arrest. "Santos is now facing local charges for assault and other offenses". She has been ordered to appear before an immigration judge for removal proceedings.
CBS Boston reported Rosiane Santos knocked the MAGA hat off of Bryton Turner and confronted him afterwards.
Santos had lived a quiet life till about 10 days ago when she confronted Turner.
Turner used his smart phone to record part of the confrontation with Santos, where she grabbed the hat from his head.
"I'm just trying to sit here and eat a nice meal", Turner says in the video.

"The lady didn't agree with his hat and I just kept telling her it's alright, he's not doing anything to me why is it even a problem", he said.
When police officers arrived on the scene, Santos allegedly told them that Turner should not be allowed to wear the hat in a Mexican restaurant due to the president's views on the country. "I don't really understand why people can't just express themselves anymore, everybody has to get mad".
After the incident, Santos defended herself to Boston 25, saying she had been provoked.
John Mohan, a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said in a statement that Santos - "an unlawfully present citizen of Brazil" - was arrested Tuesday by ICE and then released later the same day.
No further information is available at this time concerning Ms. Santos status with ICE.
