Walmart responds to racial slur on third-party product on website

Some were quick to point out that Amazon has the same Jagazi Natural's Full Cap Weaving Net product listed without a racial slur in the description.

Walmart promptly replaced the "add to cart" button with a message stating the item was no longer available.

Like we said above, as of this posting, the product is completely unavailable on the website.

"We are very sorry and appalled that this third-party seller listed their item with this description on our online marketplace", Danit Marquardt, a Walmart spokeswoman, said.

Meanwhile, Jagazi issued a statement on its website saying they are aware of the Walmart image and that someone used the company's name to list an item.

Travon Free tweeted a screenshot early Monday morning of the company's listing for a wig cap made by Jagazi Naturals. "Please beware that we are reporting this to as many people as we can and trying to get all the listings pulled down. No one will buy the product when you put that offensive name on it". Others have criticized Walmart for passing the buck onto the third-party seller rather than taking total responsibility for what ended up on its website.
