Trump capped off his trip to France with a tweet, calling his meeting with Macron a "great honor".
But not everyone is happy that the USA president is in town.
Trump says they are working to destroy terrorist organizations and will work together to "eliminate their safe havens, end their financing, and eradicate their ideology".
With a military parade on the Champs-Elysees and a gilded tour of France's most storied monuments, French President Emmanuel Macron has laid on the charm as he positioned himself as the indispensable intermediary between Europe and Donald Trump.
Trump had publicly supported Macron's far-right opponent, Marine Le Pen, in France's presidential elections.
Trump then shook hands with Macron's wife, Brigitte, as he continued to shake hands with the French president. Earlier, he shared a tense handshake with the French president during their meeting at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels.
This beats that 19-second handshake between Trump and the Japanese Prime Minister.
On a lighter note, Trump was there for France's Bastille Day celebrations, which is kind of like French Independence Day. The parade began with dozens of soldiers on horseback riding along the cobblestone avenue that runs from the Arc de Triomphe to the viewing station where Trump Saturday Macron arrived in a military jeep that he rode as if it were a chariot. "Congratulations President @EmmanuelMacron", Trump wrote. The parade also celebrated the 100th anniversary of the United States' entry into World War I.

Season 29 of The Simpsons - which kicks off October 1 - also features guest vocals from Norman Lear and Shaq. Sheeran's Simpsons episode will air in the States some time around November this year .
Meanwhile, Mr Trump's wife Melania looked on in silence. She introduced herself to the children in French and complimented their English as some of them tried to speak English back to her.
"President Macron was highly skilled at putting President Trump at ease and avoiding any land mines that would have derailed the show of unity", Boyer said.
Trump also said Thursday that the bond between the United States and France, as well as the friendship between him and Macron, was "unbreakable".
Trump often boasts of his commitment to bolstering America's military.
The two men could be seen talking animatedly as USA and French fighter jets roared overhead.
Mr Trump's acceptance of the invitation is a chance for him, also, to showcase transatlantic ties and highlight the shared challenges nestled alongside the two countries' disagreements: the conflict in Syria, the military alliance, and the fight against terrorism.
The next day, Trump drew widespread criticism for a freaky tweet about MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski's appearance, claiming she had been "bleeding badly from a face-lift" during a visit to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on New Year's Eve.
