COAS chairs meeting to review security after recent terror attacks

According to the ISPR, the army chief made these remarks while chairing a high-level security huddle held to review the security situation in the backdrop of the recent spate of terrorist activities in the country.

Pakistan has done it's "best and maximum" in the fight against terrorism and it is now time for other "stakeholders" especially Afghanistan to do more, the Army chief has asserted days after devastating twin blasts in a market in Parachinar area of Kurram tribal district.

It was concluded that while counter terrorism efforts by Pakistan continue, it is time now for the other stake holders particularly Afghanistan to "Do More".

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday acknowledged Pakistan Army's sacrifices and contribution towards regional peace and stability. "Special Intelligence Based Operations and search operations launched in coordination with intelligence and other law enforcement agencies", he said, quoting Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa.

General Bajwa further expressed his resolve to ensure safety & security of the people of Pakistan. The ISPR announced that security and surveillance of the Pak-Afghan border had been intensified after the two attacks that took place on Friday.

Earlier this week, Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council said that terrorist "safe havens" are inside, not outside, Afghanistan.
