United States forces Wednesday morning said a U.S. jet shot down an Iranian-made drone operated by Syrian government forces near Tanf, an outpost of the US-led coalition.

In recent weeks, US-led coalition's warplanes struck pro-Assad government forces to prevent them advancing from the Al-Tanf garrison in southeastern Syria at a spot where the country's borders meet Iraq and Jordan.

An armed pro-regime Shaheed-129 UAV "displayed hostile intent and advanced on Coalition forces" at 12:30 am local time on Tuesday, the coalition said in a statement, CNN reported.

The drone was thought to be armed and threatening US-led coalition troops on the ground, officials said.

Frants Klintsevich, deputy head of the defense committee in Russia's upper house of parliament, said the defense ministry statement does not mean there will be war with the U.S.in Syria, but rather that Moscow will not accept attacks on its Syrian allies.

Coalition forces use the area - just north-east of the Jordanian border - as a training and staging area for attacks against ISIL.

The area, which is used by USA special forces to train Syrian rebel groups for future campaigns against the so-called Islamic State, has emerged as the latest battleground between US -backed forces and Iranian-sponsored supporters of the Syrian government. Tuesday's incident also comes less than 2 days after the USA shot down a Syrian fighter jet after it allegedly attacked US -backed fighters near Tabqah.

With this knock, Raj went past Lindsay Reeler, Charlotte Edwards and Ellyse Perry who holds the record of six consecutive fifties. Coming out to defend the total, England were bowled out for 246 as India made an impressive start to their World Cup campaign.

A temporary suspension was declared on Tuesday after Russian Federation warned it would treat aircraft from the US-led coalition as potential targets.

Russian Federation said Washington had failed to use the line - a vital incident-prevention tool - before targeting the plane near Raqqa.

Any US military activity on the territory of Syria is an illegal invasion on the territory of a sovereign state, the expert said, which the US should be held accountable for, including the downed Syrian jet. We are maintaining contacts with the Americans at various levels: "both talks with the US Secretary of State and at the level of experts who are dealing with both bilateral relations and the Syrian problem", the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.

Australia is part of the coalition fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) in Iraq.

On several occasions in recent weeks, warplanes of the US -led coalition have also struck pro-government forces to prevent them advancing from the Al Tanf garrison in southeastern Syria at a spot where the country's borders join Iraq and Jordan.

If, after the fall of ISIS in Raqqa, we are going to use USA power and leverage to solidify the position of Syrian rebels and Kurds, at the expense of Damascus, we could find ourselves in a collision with Syria, Russia, Hezbollah, Iran and even Turkey. USA warplanes launched three other airstrikes against the forces there. The Pentagon also described those strikes as self-defense.

The growing tensions come as the coalition supports the Kurdish-Arab Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighting to take Raqa from IS. "And we'll see if that's true here in the coming hours, because all of our operations in and around Raqqa and southern Syria are designed specifically to get after ISIS".
